Convenience

A flexible learning program. You have the choice of taking all of your courses online or just the ones you want to. Online education has many advantages. Do your school work at the best time of the day for you.

How do you start?

When you contact us to become a student, you and a parent or guardian will talk with our school counselor. This first conversation can be done by telephone. If it sounds like Maidu is a good option for you, we will set up an appointment for you to visit our school, attend an orientation (where you will learn more about our program, our expectations and how to be a successful independent study student) and fill out our enrollment packet.  This process takes about an hour. If you live out of Placer County, we can do this by phone or webcam. You will also receive your first assignment at this meeting. Your success at completing the assignment is a good indicator whether you’re a strong candidate for independent learning.

When we have received your completed enrollment packet and you have completed orientation, we will assign you to an advisor.  The advisor will work with you, your parent, and your high school transcript to determine what classes you’ll take and assist in your success.
